Little Rock Air Force Base: Located northeast of Little Rock, this base is the primary C-130 Hercules training base for the Department of Defense, training C-130 pilots, navigators, flight engineers, and loadmasters from all branches of the US military in tactical airlift and aerial delivery. The 19th Airlift Wing, 314th Airlift Wing, and 189th Airlift Wing of the Air National Guard are the primary units located at the base.

Pine Bluff Arsenal: Pine Bluff Arsenal is one of nine Army installations in the United States that stored chemical weapons. The arsenal is currently the only site in the nation that integrates the complete life cycle for chemical weapons, including design, production, fill, storage, maintenance, elimination, and demilitarization technology development. Its primary mission now involves the storage and destruction of chemical weapons.
